
Jumpstart January is back! All month long in January, the Camden Public Library is offering a special series of programs and hands-on workshops for adults* designed to:
* The Improv for Fun and Relaxation program is for ALL ages, kids and adults.
Pre-registration is required for all Jumpstart January programs so we know how many people to expect and, where applicable, how many materials to provide. Tuesday, January 6, 1:00 PM: Resting into the New Year with Hester Kohl Brooks. Rejuvenate after the holidays with Yoga Nidra, an ancient form of meditation where the body hovers just above true sleep. Free.

Sunday, January 11, 2:00 PM: Sculpted Paper Flowers Workshop with Joelle Webber. Using techniques like, cupping, curling, scoring, spiraling, crimping and fringing, we will create a paper bouquet of a variety of flowers! Materials & tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite papers. $10 materials fee.

Friday, January 16, 4:00 PM: Improv for Fun & Relaxation with Laurie Spigel. Join us for an introduction to the games of Viola Spolin, known as the mother of improv, to calm nervous system, increase awareness, access intuition, and offer a creative group experience. Free.

Saturday, January 17, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Artist Trading Card Make & Trade with Amy Hand. Join us for a fun afternoon creating Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) with others. No experience necessary! Materials provided or bring your own. There is nothing like creating with others! The energy is contagious! $10 materials fee.

Tuesday, January 20, 11:00 AM: Fitness Dancing for Seniors with Rita Swidrowski. Get moving! Rita, a senior and avid Zumba dancer, will lead a variety of dances with cha cha, twist, boogie, salsa, mambo steps and more to a variety of tunes. No dance experience is necessary, and steps are shown and cued. Back by popular demand! Free.

Thursday, January 22, 6:00 PM: Carve & Print Workshop with Amy Hand. Amy will teach you how to create your design, transfer it to rubber, and learn carving techniques. Great for experienced or newbie carvers. You will walk away with at least one completed carve and prints from the evening. Bring carving tools if you have them; otherwise they can be provided. $10 materials fee.
