Celebrate 130 years of Camden Public Library… with cupcakes! Drop by the library rotunda on Friday, March 20 around midday and the first 130 people can enjoy a delicious cupcake from Laugh Loud Smile Big to celebrate our library’s history: at a town meeting on March 23, 1896, it was voted that the town of Camden establish a free public library for the use of the community, and it was to be known as Camden Public Library.
Although there were a few libraries in Camden throughout the 18th century, this was the true beginning of our own free Camden Public Library as we know it! In addition to celebratory cupcakes, we will also have a sticky note board where we invite you to share why you love CPL. We hope you’ll join us!
