“World of Wonders: A Multigenre Poetry Workshop” with Kristen Lindquist (Camden Festival of Poetry and Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance) – Registration required

This FREE workshop is put on in partnership with Camden Festival of Poetry and the Maine Writers and Publisher’s Alliance. Registration is required.

There will be ten of these workshops, each led by a different writer and happening during the winter and spring in locations around the state and on Zoom. Aimee Nezhukumatathil will be the keynote speaker at the Camden Festival of Poetry on May 12-16, 2026. 

In her NYT-bestselling book of essays and award-winning poems, Aimee Nezhukumatathil often explores the natural world, including whale sharks, fireflies, eels, dragonfruit, catalpas, monsoons, humans, and so much more. Using a variety of prompts and centering activities, including read-aloud selections from Nezhukumatathil’s work, participants will explore their own astonishments and curiosities related to the world around us and how we move through it. Writers of any and all backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome! This workshop will be led by Kristen Lindquist.

Kristen Lindquist‘s writing has appeared in such venues as Down East Magazine and Bangor Daily News, as well as many literary journals and anthologies. Her poetry collection Transportation was a finalist for the Maine Literary Award; Garrison Keillor has read three poems from the book on The Writer’s Almanac. Her most recent books are Tourists in the Known World: New & Selected Poems and Island: Haiku. She lives in Camden.
