Wildfire-Ready – Preparing the Midcoast for Wildland Fires as the Climate Warms (on Zoom)
Thursday, November 12 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
The “Camden Talks Climate” series, in partnership with Camden Public Library and CamdenCAN, will continue on Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 PM on Zoom.
WILDFIRE-READY
Preparing the Midcoast for wildland fires as the climate warms

With more than 7,500 acres of publicly accessible woodlands, the Camden Hills region is vulnerable to wildland fires – particularly during severe droughts. Learn more about local and statewide wildfire risks in an online “Camden Talks Climate” presentation with Dana Ludwig, Senior Climate Planner at the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, and Kent Nelson, Forest Ranger Specialist at the Maine Forest Service.
They’ll discuss growing wildfire risks in Maine, what landowners near woodlands can do to protect their homes, and how communities can benefit from the kind of regional wildfire planning process that Camden, Rockport, Hope and Lincolnville are undertaking.

This event will be recorded and later posted to the Camden Public Library’s Youtube Channel
