Camden Talks Climate: “Plug-In Solar May Be Coming to Maine” with Wesley Schrock (CamdenCAN) — Zoom Only

A new kind of solar system could be coming to town – in villages and cities around Maine. Small systems with built-in inverters now allow nearly everyone to have several panels (up to 1,200 KW) mounted by or on their residence and plugging into a regular outlet. “Plug-in” or “balcony” solar is popular in Europe and now U.S. states – including Maine – are moving to adopt regulations to allow these small, affordable systems.
Learn about how plug-in solar works, why it can make solar more accessible, and what’s happening in Maine with legislation to permit it. Wesley Schrock, of the nonprofit Bright Saver in San Francisco, will present on plug-in solar as part of CamdenCAN’s “Camden Talks Climate” presentations with the Camden Public Library. Schrock has worked with Bright Saver almost since the organization was founded (late in 2024).
