Join us for our Kickoff Celebration!

The public is invited to join Camden Public Library and Maine Historical Society in the beautiful, historic Amphitheatre for a celebratory kick-off of the Declaration of Independence exhibit, featuring music by talented Bay Chamber students, and a group read-aloud of the Declaration.

In case of pouring rain, the event will take place in the Reading Room.

From July to October 2026, the Declaration will travel across Maine to all 16 counties with great pomp and circumstance. Two-three day stops at Host Sites will include public and student visitation, community celebrations, readings, and special events. Camden Public Library is honored to have been selected as the Host Site for Knox County!
