Explorations Read-Aloud: “The Man Who Would be King” by Rudyard Kipling

Every Friday, at 11:00 am, on the library’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, the library will stream a brand new recording of local thespian, Joseph Coté reading aloud selections from a wide variety of fascinating and entertaining books of fiction and non-fiction.

For December 26, Coté will read aloud from Rudyard Kipling’s The Man Who Would be King.

This celebrated adventure classic is filled with the allure of uncharted lands, the ambition of two ex-soldiers, and their audacious quest for power in the heart of the Indian subcontinent.

Set against the backdrop of the British Raj in India, “The Man Who Would Be King” narrates the thrilling journey of two former British soldiers who aspire to establish their own kingdom in a remote and mysterious part of the Indian subcontinent. 

The novel explores themes of ambition, identity, and the consequences of imperialism. Rudyard Kipling’s captivating storytelling weaves an unforgettable tale of adventure and the pursuit of power.
