MY BRICK STORY: Cayla Miller

“This brick is in memory of my amazing mother, who died of cancer in 2017. She loved this library and was here at least once a week. She valued learning and was such a creative and curious person. If you look, you’ll see her name in several books inside, from a memorial fund donated in her name. My dad chose this quote from a piece of art my mom loved, she always had it hanging over her art desk. She loved birds, and over the years painted, drew, and sculpted them; she even made a life-size great blue heron out of papier mache once. I love knowing I can bring my children here and show them their grandmother’s name. This is Eve, named for Eva. She never got to meet my mom, but she’ll know from this brick the things and words she valued.” – Cayla Miller.
