Temporarily Suspended: Side by Side: Tales from Behind the Canvas

Thursday, March 26, 2020 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The Camden Public Library will be closed through Tuesday, March 31. We will provide the latest updates on when programs will resume and in what capacity on our website and Facebook page. Thanks.

Paint brushes aside, what does it take to launch a fine art career? Once begun, when does an aspiring artist actually arrive? Kim Yesis discusses her husband’s challenging journey into art from her vantage point behind the canvas using readings, anecdotes and imagery and recounts the emerging strength of her pen.

Yesis has a BA from Rutgers University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Marshall University. She has worked over 35 years in business management and is a perpetual student of human nature. She lives with her husband, Maine artist Peter Yesis, in Searsport.

Peter Yesis is the Camden Public Library’s Artist-of-the-Month for March 2020, and his work is on view in the Picker Room throughout the month. In addition to Kim’s book talk, she will also be attending (and will have books for sale at) Peter’s artist’s reception on Thursday, March 5 at 5:00 pm.

Side by Side Tales from Behind the Canvas is a 2019 Maine Literary Award Finalist.
