Perhaps it is time to revisit a previous life phase to glean wisdom and come away with the gifts you gained while shifting your overall perspective of an experience. This process can be beneficial in letting go of the past and moving forward unburdened.
Putting your life story on paper can take many forms. Today’s memoir is not yesterday’s autobiography. Modern memoir is more deeply layered and textured often illustrating a particular life phase or time period, rather than the timeline of an entire life.
Personal essays offer a writer space to create a narrative based on their experiences, writing episodes that have brought them in touch with humanity and their own sense of self as they grew and transformed, helping provide insight to others.
Participants should come prepared with pen and paper for short writing prompts.
