Free Concert by the DOWN EAST SINGERS: Comfort & Joy
Sunday, October 17 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The Camden Public Library is delighted to host the Down East Singers in the Camden Amphitheatre for a free public concert of American music. The program, entitled “Comfort & Joy,” will be performed as a tribute to the people who have suffered or lost their lives due to Covid-19. Choral selections will include music from the Shakers and Quakers to Gospel and Spirituals. Works by Bill Cunliffe, William L. Dawson, Nick Page, Alice Parker, and others will be included. Guest artist, fiddler Owen Kennedy, will be playing fiddle tunes from around the U.S.A. The concert will be aired at a later date on Down East Singers’ YouTube Channel. A limited amount of chairs will be provided. The audience is encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or a blanket for comfortable seating! (Rain date is Sunday, October 24.)
