Explorations Read-Aloud: “The Sound of Waves” by Yukio Mishima
Friday, May 7, 2021 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Every Friday, at 11:00 am, on the library’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, the library will stream a brand new recording of local thespian, Joseph Coté reading aloud selections from a wide variety of fascinating and entertaining books of fiction and non-fiction. This is a program to help keep our community connected to books during the pandemic when we are unable to meet in person.
For May 7, Coté will read aloud from The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima. Set in a remote fishing village in Japan, The Sound of Waves is a timeless story of first love. A young fisherman is entranced at the sight of the beautiful daughter of the wealthiest man in the village. They fall in love, but must then endure the calumny and gossip of the villagers.
