Explorations Read-Aloud: “Left Foot, Right Foot” by Ellen Goldsmith

Friday, July 8 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

Every Friday, at 11:00 am, on the library’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, the library will stream a brand new recording of local thespian, Joseph Coté reading aloud selections from a wide variety of fascinating and entertaining books of fiction and non-fiction. This is a program to help keep our community connected to books during the pandemic when we are unable to meet in person.

For July 8, Coté will read aloud from Ellen Goldsmith’s book of poems Left Foot, Right Foot. Summary: In twenty-eight spare and elegant poems, Ellen Goldsmith recounts the story of her life-threatening illness. Engaging readers’ hearts and minds, the poems invite reflection on the challenging realities of life while illuminating the richness of ordinary days and the marvels of the natural world. For medical professionals, the book provides the chance to see their system through a patient’s eyes. Ellen Goldsmith’s books include Where to LookSuch Distances and No Pine Tree in This Forest Is Perfect. Professor emeritus of the City University of New York, she lives in Cushing, Maine.
