Explorations Read-Aloud for Adults: As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning: A Memoir

Friday, January 15, 2021 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm

Every Friday, at 11:00 am, on the library’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, the library will stream a brand new recording of local thespian, Joseph Coté reading aloud selections from a wide variety of fascinating and entertaining books of fiction and non-fiction. This is a program to help keep our community connected to books during the pandemic when we are unable to meet in person.

For January 15, Coté will read aloud selections from Laurie Lee’s book, As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning: A Memoir. The endearing book describes how in 1934 at the age of nineteen the author
left home and walked to London, and then travelled on foot through Spain where he was trapped by the outbreak of the Civil War. In the book, Lee recaptures with stunning accuracy the sensations and experiences of his young self and the beauty and violence of Spain in those days.
