Explorations Read-Aloud for Adults: The Prince of los Cocuyos: A Miami Childhood
Friday, January 8, 2021 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Every Friday, at 11:00 am, on the library’s YouTube Channel and Facebook Page, the library will stream a brand new recording of local thespian, Joseph Coté reading aloud selections from a wide variety of fascinating and entertaining books of fiction and non-fiction. This is a program to help keep our community connected to books during the pandemic when we are unable to meet in person.
For January 8, Coté will read aloud selections from Richard Blanco’s book, The Prince of los Cocuyos: A Miami Childhood. The book is a poignant, hilarious, and inspiring memoir from the first Latino and openly gay inaugural poet, which explores his coming-of-age as the child of Cuban immigrants and his attempts to understand his place in America while grappling with his burgeoning artistic and sexual identities.
