Children’s 2022 Summer Reading Program: Ocean of Possibilities!

The 2022 summer reading program is here! Children are invited to join Miss Amy in the Amphitheatre on Thursday mornings in July for the Camden Public Library’s summer reading program. This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities,” and weekly activities will include sea stories, crafts, live marine animal encounters, and more. Weather dependent. Both age groups meet at 11 am at the library to take part in the four following events:
July 7th – It’s all about the Lobster! What do you know about Lobsters? Meet a real live lobster and see what a lobster trap looks like and how they work. Help us put together a giant lobster!
July 14th – Let’s Make and launch our own boats! S.T.E.A.M. Using tinfoil, we’ll construct our own
small boats. We’ll then launch them at the boat ramp in Harbor Park.
July 21st – Make your own – Ocean Crafts – Join Miss Amy for craft stations in the amphitheater.Wave bottles, 3-D fish, crab hats, & sandpaper starfish! Bring a 20oz. empty, clean bottle w/cover.
July 28th – Summer Reading Program finale’ Join us for a “Down to the Sea With Mr. Magee” storywalk through the park with guest reader Chris Van Dusen followed by a picnic and recognitions.
