SUMMARY:CamdenCAN's "In Transition” Reading/Discussion Group
DESCRIPTION:Join the movement toward a thriving\, resilient community with CamdenCAN‘s “In Transition” reading/discussion group for winter/spring 2025.  This bi-monthly group will meet on second and fourth Tuesdays at 5:00 p.m. in the Picker Room at the Camden Public Library. \n\n\n\nWe’ll begin exploring ideas from The Permaculture City by Toby Hemenway. Together\, we’ll tackle topics like creating home and community gardens\, mastering water wisdom\, finding energy solutions\, fostering local livelihoods and wealth\, embracing bioregionalism\, and rethinking governance. Bring your curiosity\, your ideas\, and your passion for resilience—your voice will help secure our community’s future.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoline Blais will be the discussion leader. Joline researches regenerative design\, teaches permaculture and advises the Terrell House Permaculture Center at UMaine. She is a steering committee member of CamdenCAN\, and board member of PAN (Permaculture Association of the Northeast). Past projects include co-directing LongGreenHouse\, an educational partnership with Wabanaki neighbors\, emphasizing indigenous knowledge and collaboration\, and working as a co-founding member of Belfast Ecovillage. Additionally\, Joline serves as President of the Wild Blueberry Heritage Center.
