Camden Philosophical Society Meeting

Tuesday, September 20 @ 3:30 pm 5:30 pm

At the Camden Philosophical Society’s next monthly reading and discussion group, at 3:30 pm (NEW TIME) on Tuesday, Sept. 20, we will continue walking a literary path, with a discussion of the philosophical themes in Henry David Thoreau’s essay entitled “Walking.” An open discussion is planned in which participants are asked to direct the group’s attention to parts of these essay that they find particularly compelling. The work is attached as a PDF, which can also be found online at  https://faculty.washington.edu/timbillo/Readings%20and%20documents/Wilderness/Thoreau%20Walking.pdf

The meeting will be a hybrid combination of in-person at the Picker Room of the Camden Public Library or Zoom. All are welcome to attend by either mode. If you wish to participate via Zoom, please email sarahmiller@usa.net. You will then receive a Zoom invitation on the morning of the meeting, Click on the “Join Zoom Meeting” link in that invitation at the time of the event. We will again be using the library’s OWL system to facilitate hybrid attendance. It is necessary that all Zoom participants remain in “Mute” mode when they are not speaking, in order to prevent the kind of sound distortion.
