Every Canvas Has a Story: Author Talk by Kim Yesis, Presenting her Book “Side by Side: Tales from Behind the Canvas”
Tuesday, November 29 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
During the month of November, the Camden Pubic Library will feature a show of paintings in the Picker Room Gallery entitled “Every Canvas Has a Story” by Peter Yesis. To complement the show, Peter’s wife, author Kim Yesis, will give a presentation about her book Side by Side: Tales from Behind the Canvas. The book details how Peter, at age 50, exchanges hard hat for brush and canvas — a move that tests both his talent and his thirty-year marriage. From behind the scenes, Side by Side recounts the artist’s rocky start, his wife’s crash course in art, and the transformation of their relationship into a creative partnership . . . with an unexpected sideline.
A Maine Literary Award and Indie Book finalist, Side by Side is a fun and informative read for all who are setting foot on a creative path . . . and for those cheering from behind as well.
The author talk will be presented to an in-person audience in the library’s Picker Room.
Copies of the book will be for sale at the program on November 29, as well as at the opening reception for Peter Yesis’ art show on Saturday, November 5, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. The book may also be purchased online at: https://maineauthorspublishing.com/side-by-side/
