Mrs. Joseph Sailer’s Moon

Joe Churchman will speak, along with a panel of restoration experts. Churchman recently completed a lengthy restoration of his grandmother's 1923 Moon touring car. The car itself will be on display in front of the library.  George Sprowl, owner of Antique Express in Searsmont, will speak on Automobile Restoration. Owls Head Transportation Museum will also be present.  Jason Rantala of Swell Years antique auto detailing and appraisal will be there to talk about the economics of restoring and vehicle evaluation.    …

Algren: A Life. Author Event with Mary Wisniewski

Mary Wisniewski is a columnist for the Chicago Tribune and the author of the critically acclaimed biography of writer Nelson Algren, Algren: A Life. It was named best biography of 2017 by the Society of Midland Authors and best non-fiction by the Chicago Writers Association. Mary Wisniewski will talk about the odd, funny and sometimes tragic life of Chicago author Nelson Algren, who wrote of the down-and-out and was the lover of French existentialist Simone De Beauvoir.

For children birth to age 2, every Wednesday morning at 10:00am in the Jean Picker Room.  Join Miss Amy for songs, finger plays, read-alouds and more!   A great opportunity for babies to interact with other babies of different ages and for caregivers to have some big people time!  Always a fun morning with the kids! Older siblings are always welcome.   Guests always welcome.  This will happen during school vacation week as well!
