Our weekly informal read-aloud program for toddlers and preschoolers is held in the Children's room, where wiggling and playing while listening to stories is just fine!

September 25 is National Voter Registration Day 2018 On September 25, 2018, Americans will celebrate National Voter Registration Day with a massive 50-state effort to register voters before Election Day this November. The League of Women Voters will have a table in the Rotunda of the Library. Please bring your valid state ID.  With midterms and governor races happening in a few weeks, every eligible American voter should exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box…

Read and chat – entirely in Spanish! This Spanish language reading and conversation group  will continue on “second and fourth Tuesday” meetings  at 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. We’ll chat in Spanish about what we’re reading (books, magazines, etc.) and decide how to proceed. What is Music-Thanatology?

What is Music-Thanatology? Midcoast musician Barbara Jean O'Brien will share the story of her journey into the study and practice of prescriptive music for end-of-life care. You will learn about the effects of acoustic vibration on bodily systems and their therapeutic application for everything from anxiety, shortness of breath and circulatory challenge to pain management, disorientation and support within non-responsive conditions. Music-Thanatology supports the dying person and his or her community of family, friends and other caregivers. Come learn more!

Butterfly Tea Potluck

By now, many of our Monarch butterflies will have emerged from their chrysalis and have started their journey to Mexico. The Camden Public Library’s huge September book sale under the tents will run for four days. Thousands of books, CDs and DVDs  divided into over 25 categories will be on sale beginning Thursday, September 27, and running through Sunday, September 30, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day except Sunday, when the sale will close at 4pm.
