The Oshima Brothers, a duo consisting of brothers Sean and Jamie, have been creating music together their whole lives. The brothers are known for their powerful vocal harmony, joyous interaction, and skilled musicianship. Jamie, recognized for his virtuosic guitar playing, is also likely to add mandolin and foot percussion, while Sean is known for his warm vocals, guitar, percussion, and smooth songwriting. They will be playing the Camden Public Library Coffeehouse on Thursday, February 1, at 7:00 pm to kick off Winterfest 2018. Tickets are $10 at the door.
In September 2016 they released their eponymous debut album. ‘The Oshima Brothers’ is a collection of 11 original songs that explore themes of growth, travel, love, and longing, blending elements of acoustic folk and pop music. In the recordings, Sean’s songwriting and warm lead vocals are complemented by Jamie’s thrilling instrumentalism on guitar, bass, keys, and drums. The brothers draw inspiration from artists including Gillian Welch, Norah Jones, and Mumford & Sons.
The album has been dancing around the top ten most-played albums of the week at local radio station WERU for October.
