The Camden-Rockport Historical Society continues its “Maine Living Series” at the Camden Public Library with a historical presentation on Camden, by historian and enthusiast Sandy Delano. His talk, on “Very Early Camden: People and events from 1622 until 1778” will be on Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 pm. Delano says, “These are the people and events that led to the Camden and Rockport we know today!”
Sanford “Sandy” Delano was born and raised in Rockland, Maine, and is a veteran of the US Navy and “the computer wars in Massachusetts.” He has now retired to the family farm in Lincolnville. He volunteers at several Historical Societies and sells advertising for The Free Press Newspaper. For almost fifty years he has researched his and other folks’ families; he has very deep roots in the Camden area and claims to be related to half the Maine Coast!
