Resilience: Carole Starr with Brain Injury Voices

Wednesday, February 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Adversity is part of the human experience. Challenges like the death of a loved one, a relationship ending, a job loss or a health crisis can shake us to our core and threaten to tear us apart. The good news is that resilience is also part of the human experience—finding a way through life’s challenges and even growing stronger because of them.

In this inspirational presentation, motivational speaker and author Carole Starr will share her resilience-inspired photographs. She’ll be joined by her colleagues, Rorie Lee and Bethany Bryan, to discuss strategies for building resilience.

Biography: Carole Starr learned about resilience after she sustained a brain injury in a car accident in 1999. In an instant, her life as a teacher and musician ended. Carole now gives keynote speeches on resilience and leads the award-winning survivor group Brain Injury Voices. Her book, To Root & To Rise: Accepting Brain Injury, waspublished in 2017.
