Owls: Life After Dark in the Avian World

October 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm

“Owls: Life After Dark in the Avian World” presented by Tom Arter with the Midcoast Maine Audubon. Shrouded in mystery, owls are unique and have fascinated people of all ages. Most people do not realize that there are ten species of owls here in Maine. This program is an introduction to the owls of Maine and explores their many adaptations that allow them to survive here. Tom is a past President of the Seacoast Chapter of NH Audubon, worked as a staff Naturalist at NH Audubon, and went on to teach Ornithology at UNH. He is currently serving on the board of the Damariscotta River Association. He says “I have always loved the night and feel very comfortable in the dark. I share this comfort with many species of owls and have enjoyed getting to know them.”
