We are ready to launch Maker Faire 2015! The first meeting of the Curation Committee will be on Tuesday, March 10, at 4:00 pm at the Library. This committee will be in charge of “curation” – basically, the recruitment and selection of Makers for the Faire. Volunteers are welcome, please call Ken Gross at the Library for more information.
To confirm significant details:
The 2015 Midcoast Mini Maker Faire will be on Saturday, September 12.
In response to a survey we sent to all the Maker Faire visitors, we will continue a one-day Faire which will still be extremely family-friendly, with a beefed-up Tech component. (This is another important task of the Committee, to recruit Tech Makers!) We are planning on using the indoor space in the Library in addition to the outdoor tent and the on-street exhibits; we hope to recruit 4 or perhaps 5 indoor tech-oriented Makers, and we can also use the Picker Room for scheduling relevant presentations throughout the afternoon.
Goal of the Committee:
The choice of Makers creates the flavor and personality of our Midcoast Mini Maker Faire, so recruiting Makers is a crucial part of the Faire. Please plan on brainstorming possible Makers and then following up by contacting and developing interest on the part of our prospective Makers. The Committee is also the main source of volunteers for the day of the Faire. Thank you all for your participation!
