The Camden Philosophical Society Reading Group will host a discussion by Chris Augusta to take place in the Camden Public Library on Tuesday, March 10 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the History Center Meeting Room. All are welcome. This is a discussion of the relationship and relevance of traditional conceptions of art to modern conceptions. Among others, the readings for the discussion are based on selected essays by Asian art scholar Ananda Coomaraswamy. The lead essay by Coomaraswamy suggests the direction of the discussion: “Is Art a Superstition, or a Way of Life?” The readings will be introduced by Chris Augusta.
