Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project – Helping Maine’s Immigrant Community

Sue Roche, ILAP Executive Director

Sue Roche, ILAP’s Executive Director, will be speaking about Maine’s immigrant community and the challenges they face in our immigration law system, including new immigration policies implemented by the current Administration.

Kifah Abdulla. Kifah was a prisoner of war for 8 years during the Iran-Iraq war, then a refugee in Jordan before coming to Maine. He is an artist and poet living in Portland and he teaches at MECA.

The Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project helps low-income immigrants improve their legal status and works for more just and humane laws and policies affecting immigrants.

Adele Ngoy and her son David. She is a fashion designer, owns Antoine’s Tailor Shop in Portland, and is the Director of Women United Around the World, a nonprofit she founded here in Portland. Adele is a Board member at ILAP.
