On Thursday, February 16, 7:00 pm, Camden Public Library welcomes the Midcoast Maine Audubon and Susan Gallo. Gallo, a Wildlife Biologist, will speak about how Maine’s diverse forests are home to an amazing number of bird species. Each species uses different layers within the forest canopy, each prefers different forest types and food sources, and each has a slightly different preference for where they nest and raise their young. This multi-media presentation reviews the bird species of greatest conservation concern in Maine, the types of forest habitat and features they need to survive, and ways that woodlot owners can manage their forests “with birds in mind”.
