This hands-on workshop is inspired by the tradition and science of gut health and its impacts on our overall health. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, once said that “All disease begins in the gut”. In this class, we will identify the ways that our ancestors nourished their gut health by eating fermented foods, sprouted grains, grass-fed foods, and abundant wild plants, both edible and medicinal from the land. 10 common and very beneficial medicinal plants, locally found in Maine, will be discussed in this workshop as well.
The workshop will be led by Steve Byers, a Clinical Herbalist who runs the Herbal Medicine Wellness Clinic in Belfast.
